Our Transit Police passed along this photo of crowds yesterday evening, looking south on Granville Street from Robson on Friday, February 19.
From the ground, a few people on Twitter also passed along more shots.

There’s no official numbers just yet, but we suspect that was our busiest day on transit thus far!
This weekend’s crowds certainly may surpass Friday’s record, though. If you’re watching from home, check out the You Gotta Be Here livecams on Robson and Granville Street — the crowds this morning already look just as big as the picture above.
That it photo isn’t exactly Robson, but looking south on Granville at Robson.

I was there and saw people who had strollers holding the strollers above their heads. It was no place for little kids or dogs. You couldn’t stop anywhere because the crowd behind kept pushing. Hopefully VPD will close off Howe St. tonight before the fireworks end to alleviate the crush.
