Events this week: UBC Line in-person workshops, SkyTrain safety week

A heads up on two things happening this week!

UBC Line in-person workshops, May 4 and May 6

Two UBC Line in-person community consultation workshops are on this week.

  • May 4, 2010, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m
    St. James Community Square, 3214 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver
  • May 6, 2010, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
    West Point Grey United Church, 4595 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver

Come by if you’re interested! Two more workshops are also on May 11 and May 13 if you can’t make these ones (here’s the full list of dates).

SkyTrain invites you to ride and learn about safety this week

As it’s North American Occupational Safety and Health Week, SkyTrain passengers are invited to ride and learn about safety.

From Monday, May 3 to Thursday, May 6, SkyTrain staff and Transit Police will be on hand at designated SkyTrain stations to answer questions about safety and security in and around SkyTrain stations.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Monday, May 3 – Waterfront Station (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Granville Station (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, May 4 – Commercial-Broadway Station (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Metrotown Station (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, May 5 – New Westminster Station (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Scott Road Station (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
  • Thursday, May 6 – Lougheed Town Centre Station (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Braid Station (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
