Come to Connecting Communities, the 2011 BC Youth Summit on Sustainable Transportation!

Update, Jan 28, 2011: The application deadline has now been extended to February 21, 2011! The update post can be found here.

Calling all youth! We’re hosting Connecting Communities, the 2011 B.C. regional youth summit on sustainable transportation, and you’re invited to apply to attend.

Every year or so, the Canadian Urban Transportation Association (CUTA) partners with local agencies to host a youth conference, encouraging young people to learn about transportation, sustainability, and planning. This year, TransLink, BC Transit, and CUTA will sponsor 45 or so youth to attend our conference in Vancouver from August 19-21, 2011.

So if you’re aged 18-30, live in BC, and interested in attending—apply today! Check out translink.ca/bcyouthsummit for all the details: due date is January 31, 2011.

If you’re interested in how past conferences have gone, take a look CUTA’s special November 2008 newsletter, profiling the youth summits and previous participants. Edit: You can also check out the Facebook page for the 2008 CUTA Youth Summit, held in Vancouver, which has photos and more!

As well, here’s the list of CUTA regional youth summits happening across Canada, in case you aren’t from BC but would still like to attend a summit somewhere!
