Hi Scott,

I've asked around and here's the answer:

The early opening of the Canada Line will likely mean a slight increase in our operating costs for the year -- three months' more operation for Canada Line, less the incremental fare revenue generated by new transit
passengers attracted by the new service. Any cost increase would be very well offset by the increase in service quality for people using the
line.

I think Translink should purchase New Flyer 40 foot DE40LFR Hybrid Bus to replace the Flyer 1992 (3211 - 3257) after the 141 Nova HEV Hybrid bus have come (32 expansion and 109 to replace Flyer 1991). In addition, the Articulated Flyer (3003 - 3020) should be replaced by the newer, user-friendly Articulated Hybrid because the announcing doesn't work on the old ones.

I think when the M-Line was originally planned in the late 1990's there was an option to have "C" cars in the Mark II's. This option was then canceled due to funding.

It's great to see more Skytrain cars coming into service. I am curious if Translink has looked at purchasing the so called "C" cars (cars without driving controllers on them or streamlined ends) to lengthen trains. The "C" cars would be fitted between the two end driving cars ("A" and "B" cars). Is there a technological reason not to do this? Bombardier is making "C" cars for a new system of four-car Skytrains in Kelana Jaya.
