On Twitter, the Stanley Cup riot, and optimizing our system: video interviews from our 2011 annual report

Last week, we published our 2011 annual report (to coincide with our 2011 annual general meeting!), and I just wanted to highlight a couple of videos from that report today.

Videos, you say? Yes indeed! If you view our 2011 annual report online, you can click links throughout the document that take you to video interviews with our staff, talking about what we did last year.

The video above is of our Customer Information Workleader Jason Johnston, also known as ^JJ on our popular Twitter feed. Check out his video to hear about his work on Twitter!

And read on for a few more videos…

Here’s Randy Fonger, Manager of Field Operations with SkyTrain, talking about our transit work during the Stanley Cup riot last year.

And here’s Peter Klitz, a Senior Planner at TransLink, talking about optimization work on the transit system. (We did an interview with Peter about the 14 last year!)

There’s three more videos you can check out at our YouTube page too:

  • Nancy Olewiler, Chair of TransLink’s Board of Directors, gives insight into the role and responsibility of the Board as it oversees TransLink’s activities, and the variety of skills that directors bring to the Board.
  • Ian Jarvis, TransLink’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), talks about TransLink’s 2011 results, the value of forward-looking investments in transportation for the region, and TransLink’s commitment to delivering excellent service to customers.
  • Wayne Bourdeaud’Huy, Manager of Procurement Services with Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC), discusses how the organization gets more certainty on bus fuel costs by applying a fuel strategy that locks in prices ahead of time.

And in case you missed it, here’s that link to our 2011 annual report again. Enjoy!
