Earlier this week, Rogers completed installation of the LTE wireless network in the 2.5 km Burquitlam Tunnel on the Evergreen Extension. This marks the last section of SkyTrain that was without cell coverage since service expanded to the Dunsmuir and Edmonds tunnels in July 2016, and New Westminster this past August.

Rogers and Fido customers will now experience a seamless, wireless network across the entire SkyTrain system, allowing them to email, text, stream music and surf the web throughout their commute. Enhancing cellular coverage across the Expo and Millennium Line network increases safety, security and convenience for customers and operators with the added bonus of no cost to taxpayers.

We know that seamless connectivity across our transit system is important to customers and our partnership with Rogers is one way we are working to have a reliable and sustainable network in place.
