TransLink is expanding the reach of a program that taps into the generosity of its customers by turning unwanted Compass Cards into transit passes to help families and children in need.
Last year, Compass Card donation bins were set up at a handful of locations around the region . These bins allow people to donate new, or semi-used, Compass Cards that are not registered. The value remaining on the donated cards is converted into transit passes to help children, families and seniors at United Way-funded social service agencies.
Since the launch of the program last year, roughly $3,500 has been raised. It has now been expanded to include two additional key locations – at Burrard and YVR Airport stations – making it easier than ever to donate a Compass Card!
Where can I donate my Compass Card?
- Compass Customer Service Centre (Stadium–Chinatown Station)
- Broadway–City Hall Station
- Vancouver City Centre Station
- Waterfront Station
- West Coast Express Office (at Waterfront Station)
- YVR Airport Station
- Burrard Station
How do I donate my Compass Card?
Simply deposit the not-registered Compass Card into your nearest donation kiosk.
You can unregister your existing Compass Card by calling Compass Customer Service at 604-398-2042 or by visiting the Compass Customer Walk in Centre .
Both the deposit and balance of not-registered Compass Cards will be converted to Compass Tickets for distribution by United Way of the Lower Mainland (UWLM) to selected agencies working directly with those in need!
