Lumière Vancouver returns for its seventh year and will be showcasing seven amazing interactive art installations in Vancouver’s West End. This free event is described by its organizers as inspired by light, art, and creative expression.

Returing this year is “Davie,” a stunning, illuminated 24-foot-tall grizzly bear. Davie joins Luna, Stanley and Eugenia, a collection of nature-inspired light sculptures at English Bay that pay homage to British Columbia’s wildlife community.

New this year is Prismatica, created by RAW Design. Prismatica is made up of countless colourful giant prisms where visitors can walk through and observe city life in every colour of the spectrum.

How to get there

This event is best experienced on foot, and arriving using transit or cycling.

Ride the SkyTrain’s Expo Line to Burrard Station and from there you can take the 5 Robson bus, or you can pickup a bike from the Mobi station at Melville and Dunsmuir.

The first installation is at 1800 Morton Avenue, so you’ll want to ride the 5 Robson bus to Pendrell Street. Once you’re done there, the next installation is at 1200 Bute Street. Get back on the 5 Robson bus at the same stop and ride to Bute Street. To get back to Burrard Station, you’ll want to walk east on Davie Street to Burrard Street to catch the 2 Downtown bus.
