PIVOT 2019: TransLink supports students’ innovative solutions for cleaner transit

Undergraduate students across a variety of faculties, including business, computer science, interactive arts and technology, and engineering recently got a chance to showcase their solutions for sustainable transit, thanks to TransLink.

In February this year, CaseIT presented PIVOT, a local undergraduate ideathon proudly supported by TransLink. Beginning as a spark to an idea, PIVOT was conceptualized in 2018 to celebrate CaseIT’s 15 year anniversary within the Vancouver business community. TransLink proudly supported PIVOT as a theme sponsor, providing powerful insights to this year’s theme of traffic congestion.

Q&A: Transportation expert David Zipper talks ride hailing, new mobility, and more!

TransLink’s second annual New Mobility Forum brought together leaders in government, industry and academia to discuss how we regulate, manage and deliver transportation in Metro Vancouver as we forge ahead into the future.

Transportation expert David Zipper, resident fellow at the German Marshall Fund, was the keynote speaker at the forum. He shared his insights on the future of new mobility and it what it means for Metro Vancouver.

After the event, Andrew McCurran, TransLink’s director of strategic planning and policy, caught up with Zipper to get his unique perspective on new mobility.
