I Love Transit Week 2020: Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe

I Love Transit: Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe is October 5–9! Since 2009, we have shared interesting stories celebrating our riders, transit enthusiasts and all the things we love about transit over the course of a special week dedicated to just that, our love of transit! As part of it, students in kindergarten through Grade 12 ride the bus for free during the week.

In keeping with tradition, we’ll have a host of awesome opportunities for this exciting week. Here’s what’s in store for K-12 teachers and parents (below) and everyone else:

For K-12 teachers and parents

I ❤️ Transit 2020

Free bus travel for K-12 students, Oct. 5-9

Students in kindergarten through Grade 12 ride the bus for free during I Love Transit, Oct. 5–9. Please note that this does not include SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express. As well, regular fares apply to teachers and adults accompanying children and high school students on the system.

Win a visit from a TransLink bus

Deadline: Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 5 p.m. 

Have transit come to you! We’ll visit your school with a bus where kids will discover how to ride transit in a safe and fun way. Plus learn how TransLink moves half a million people a day across Canada’s largest transit service area.

Win transit passes for your class or child

Deadline: Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 5 p.m. 

Ten randomly selected Metro Vancouver school classes will win DayPasses for up to 35 students in your class to take transit for free on any day of their choice. For students who are learning at home in the fall, 15 randomly selected parents will win DayPasses for themselves and their child.

A DayPass provides unlimited transit use on all buses, SkyTrain and SeaBus for one day.
