Some fun links!
May 15, 2009
A few fun links have crossed my desk today, so I thought I’d put a post up to share.
- Seattle’s Bus Chick recently wrote a blog post about how much she liked Vancouver transit.
- Lea Redmond from San Francisco presents a conceptual knitting idea for knitters riding the BART trains. (Found at the BART blog!)
- And David Lam caught some new photos of a New Flyer Xcelsior demonstration bus that we had in town this week. Check out his photo gallery and videos!
The Bart Scarf? Would you call that the Barf for short? :D
Fun idea though, and you’d have something to show for all the time you spent in transit.
Are we getting some of those new Excelsior buses or are we just checking them out for now? They have some very sexy features – but the price differential is large I imagine.
Great links! The scarf idea is unique and I’ve enjoyed perusing Bus Chick’s blog.
Shane: I am pretty sure we’re just checking the Xcelsiors out. Always good to know what the latest technology is!
Also, the Barf is pretty hilarious :D
The Excelsior buses appear to be longer than the current buses we have and perhaps an additional row of seating.
The seats look futuristic being they appear to be paper thin. I wonder how was the legroom on this bus. Is it easy to get out from the window seat when someone just turns their legs?
Neat skylight at top, is it openable for additional summer venting?
looks similar to the MK2 train cars… not enough room for standing passengers… this bus must be configured for the highway commuter routes?
Going off topic… anybody want to commute like a “bat” with these shoes?
