Hello #595, welcome back C26: June bus service changes start today
The June seasonal bus service changes start today—which includes the launch of the new #595 route, connecting communities over the Golden Ears Bridge!
The #595 Langley Centre/Haney Place is a limited-stop run serving the Walnut Grove Park & Ride, Haney Place, and Langley Centre. It also stops at Maple Meadows Station when West Coast Express is running.
It’s a single-zone trip entirely within zone 3, and the bridge toll fee is covered in your fare. Generally, from Monday to Friday, the #595 travels every half hour from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on weekends and hoildays, it runs from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Here’s the route map and timetable.)
Edit: Just saw that the Ridge Meadows Post took the 595 this morning and wrote about it!
June also heralds the return of the C26 Buntzen Lake Special/Coquitlam Station Special, providing summer weekend/holiday service between Buntzen Lake and Coquitlam Station. You can take the C26 to the lake on weekends until September 7.
All the June seasonal service changes can be found in the June Buzzer—-but since there weren’t very many of them, I’ll just repeat the info below.
Vancouver, Burnaby, & New Westminster
19 Stanley Park/Metrotown
Until September 7, additional seasonal service between Stanley Park and West Pender Street at Cambie Street, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends/holidays.
28 Joyce Station/Phibbs Exchange/Capilano University
130 Metrotown Station/Hastings/Phibbs Exchange/Capilano University
Between Phibbs Exchange and Capilano University, this service is discontinued until September 7.
North Vancouver
211 Seymour/Phibbs Exchange
5:50 p.m. trip leaves Burrard Station, instead of Pender at Thurlow.
N24 Upper Lonsdale/Downtown
The N24 will be re-routed permanently in downtown Vancouver to begin its Upper Lonsdale trips from Dunsmuir at Howe (the same location as other downtown NightBus services).
Langley & Maple Ridge
NEW 595 Langley Centre/Haney Place
New route across the Golden Ears Bridge, every 30 minutes in each direction, about 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends/holidays. This route serves Walnut Grove Park & Ride and stops at Maple Meadows Station when West Coast Express trains are running.
Tri-Cities/Community Shuttle
C26 Buntzen Lake Special/Coquitlam Station Special
Until September 7, seasonal weekend/holiday service between Buntzen Lake and Coquitlam Station.
Please note that these changes are not reflected in the printed timetables for April 20, but will be up-to-date through TransLink’s online Trip Planning service, Next Bus text messaging, and downloadable PDF timetables.
talking about bus service i have a question about rt 28:
when the bus begins it route from joyce, at boundery and burke the bus was suppose to turn at that point but there was water main construction, so it made the bus detour around t until it arrives at smith and fir. but now since construction is done, i still see buses go htrough the detour way. is the 28 bus going to be driving back on the normal route again?
Hi Daniel,
Here’s the answer from CMBC planning:
I went from Mission to Cloverdale via the WCE, 595, and 341 today, it took me just an hour 10 minutes whereas driving would get me there in just under an hour. Very impressive bus route, but there were only 2 other people on the bus besides me, both of them getting off in the industrial bridge just off Golden Ears Bridge leaving the driver to chauffeur only me all the way to Langley Centre. I can’t be so certain about the variation of the motto, “Give them buses and they will ride” South of Fraser anymore, perhaps when the tolls the ridership will go up. Has anyone tried taking the 595 in the peak hour direction yet?
I had when i was off it.
