Check this blog and Twitter for transit updates on Tue Sept 8
September 4, 2009
In the morning on Tuesday September 8, watch for transit updates on the Buzzer blog and via @kenhardie on Twitter.
From 7 a.m. to about 9 a.m., the TransLink media team and I will be out watching the transit situation so you know what’s going on.
I’ll be on Twitter at @thebuzzer too, but Ken’s account is the main one to track.
We’ll be stationed at busy spots all over the region, so we’ll be able to get you fresh information quite regularly.
I will personally be cycling between 49th, 41st and King Edward Stations on the Canada Line, so if you see me, say hello!
Again, here’s all the details of Monday’s bus service changes, and here’s some handy travel tips for the first weeks of September.
For all those people wanting SEMI Express SERVICE along Granville St. in Vancouver up to 41st Ave in order to get downtown; my advice is to use #480.
Frequency is greatly improved and using that bus will get you all the way down to 41st.
Private school students can transfer to a #10 local to King Ed for the schools there or commuters heading downtown can catch #43 over to Oakridge for C-Line.
If you are thinking of taking the 480 remember that This is a service designed for UBC students, ALL of whom have bus passes. In the past this has resulted in VERY crowded buses. In fact, it has not been uncommon for the 480 to be full and passing up before it has left Richmond.
RIP 98 B-Line
This wouldn’t be an issue if there was someway to interline the 10 and 403.
Sounds like everything was OK until 8am. I’m getting CKNW alerts of congestion at the stations.
Perhaps some of those suburban buses should go downtown after 7:30am for a couple of weeks.
Hmmm… post-8am seemed pretty OK to me. Didn’t see/hear much about congestion from the staff standing at the stations either. Not sure where CKNW was hearing that from!
