Comptroller general’s review of TransLink and BC Ferries released today

Well, when news rains, it pours! Today, the B.C. government released the review of TransLink and B.C. Ferries completed by the Comptroller General.

Here is the B.C. government’s press release, and here’s the full report.

I was at the press conference in the morning, and recorded the media’s Q & A with transportation minister Shirley Bond. It’s in two parts, owing to the restrictions of my camera and YouTube (neither one will take videos over 10 minutes).

Check out part 1 above and part 2 below. In between, I missed a few seconds where Minister Bond discusses how she spoke with our CEO Tom Prendergast about his departure (of all the things to miss, I know!)

Also, since it’s a large report, our staff are now taking a look to see what we will do. I’ll let you know what happens once I have more info. I should mention too that we have our own internal review process currently going on as well, so we’ll have lots of advice to work with.

And as always, Jeff Nagel has an article up. Here’s coverage from the Vancouver Sun and the CBC too.

Here’s the second part of the video, by the way!
