Bus reroutes and SkyTrain repair work over the weekend, Sat June 12 and Sun June 13

Summer events continue on this weekend, prompting a few bus reroutes. As well, SkyTrain will be doing a bit of repair work in the Columbia-Sapperton tunnel on Sunday, which will result in some slight delays to the Millennium Line in that area.

As well, maintenance work in the northbound SkyTrain tunnel from Columbia to Sapperton stations will cause minor service delays to Millennium Line passengers in this area on Sunday, June 13, 2010.

  • Expo and Millennium Lines will operate every 7½ minutes each all day and evening, instead of the usual range of 6 minutes (mid-day) to 10 minutes (late night). With our current use of 4-car trains, we do not expect any sustained overcrowding or overloading.
  • Millennium Line passengers who normally ride through Columbia station (either direction) will have to change trains, and wait up to 5 minutes on the Columbia platform. Millennium Line trains will arrive and depart Columbia station at the “westbound” (normally towards Waterfront) platform.
  • There will be up to a 2 minute scheduled delay at Sapperton.
  • There should be no delay to Expo Line (Waterfront-King George) passengers, or on the rest of the Millennium Line (between VCC-Clark and Sapperton).
  • Additional SkyTrain staff will be on hand at Columbia station to provide directions and assistance. We will do our best to minimize any delay or inconvenience, and appreciate our customers’ patience and cooperation.
