Summer bus service changes start Mon June 21

Summer bus service changes start Mon June 21

Once again, we’re making seasonal bus service changes on Monday, June 21!

For background: we adjust bus service four times a year, reflecting major passenger ebbs and flows in April, June, September, and December.

June marks the end of the school year for some and the start of summer for many, so we have a few adjustments to reflect these changed travel patterns.

Since there are very few changes, I’ve posted all the details below: routes involved include the 19, 239, 401 and C26 — there are also changes to bus bays at Coquitlam Station and the Downtown NightBus terminus. Check the main TransLink service changes page for more information!

Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster

19 Stanley Park/Metrotown
A shuttle will be added between downtown Vancouver and the Stanley Park Loop to help handle the anticipated crowds. With the shuttles in operation, service from downtown to the park will run every 5-7 minutes on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Dunsmuir Street re-routes continue to be in effect.

North Shore

239 Capilano University/Park Royal
Starting June 21, the trip at 6:17 a.m. from Lonsdale Quay to Park Royal will now start from 3rd Street/Ridgeway at 6:08 a.m. It will also leave Lonsdale Quay earlier at 6:14 a.m. The trip at 6:09 a.m. from 3rd Street/Ridgeway to Marine/Capilano will be cancelled.

Richmond

401 Garden City/One Road
The last eastbound trip (leaving Chatham & 2nd Ave. at 1:26 a.m.) will terminate at No. 5 Road and Steveston Highway, eliminating a duplication on a stretch of Steveston Highway shared with the 403 Bridgeport Station/Three Road. Customers going to that portion of Steveston Highway on the 401 will have to transfer to the 403.

Tri-Cities

C26 Belcarra/Port Moody Stn
Will run once an hour on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays between Coquitlam Station and Buntzen Lake. The first bus leaves Coquitlam Station at 9:30 a.m.; the last bus leaves Buntzen Lake at 9:05 p.m.

Bus bay re-assignments

Coquitlam Station

Bus bay 6 will now serve the 97 B-Line and the N9 Downtown.

Bus bay 7 will now serve the 160 Vancouver and 179 Johnson, plus the 190 Vancouver in the AM peak hours only.

Downtown NightBus Terminus

Owing to the new Dunsmuir bike lane, some stops on Dunsmuir have moved. The N24 will stop on Howe St instead of Dunsmuir St (Bay 3 on Howe St). The N8 will now stop at Pender and Howe instead of Dunsmuir St as well (that’s called Bay 1 on Howe St). It’s much easier to understand if you see the map of these changes.
