Transit reports on CTV Morning Live
CTV launches a brand-new morning program today called CTV Morning Live. It airs weekday mornings between 5:30 and 9 a.m.
Billed as everything you need to know to get you going in the morning, including complete transit information live from Surrey Transit Centre and T-COMM! That’s right, CTV’s Derek Zabel is delivering roughly five state-of-the-transit-system live updates per show alongside traffic reports. A camera and lights have been setup at the Duty Manager’s office at Surrey Transit Centre and is connected via a fibre optic cable so that Derek is always in contact with T-COMM. Besides the live updates, there will be occasional, special news pieces that will feature TransLink as well.
TransLink is partnering with CTV during Morning Live in order to provide another way to reach and engage with customers. TransLink on Twitter, our Customer Interaction team and real-time NextBus service will be mentioned on the program (and don’t forget transit alerts & advisories). Who knows? Maybe they’ll even mention the Buzzer… OK, this isn’t part of the agreement, but you never know.
Good for TransLink. I had this idea a few years back; I’m glad TransLink has decided to continue reaching out and connecting to commuters. I realize that this is new, and this is also dependent on the agreement between CTV and TransLink, but I hope transit updates become a more prominent feature in the CTV Morning Live newscasts. I suggest having some transit status updates on the news ticker.
Anyway, good job TransLink and CTV.
This is fantastic. Transit updates are as important as road/traffic updates for commuters and I’m glad that this info is being provided to commuters. Two thumbs up!
Could you please post the transit information cones on CTV morning news… thanks
Oops that should be times not cones
Hi Karen – which transit times are you looking for? The hours of our call centre? If so, you can find that info on the TransLink website. I’ll also paste it here:
