- Hey, there’s a bar called SkyTrain in Bangkok! Rated one of the top rooftop bars in 2010, you can also see Bangkok’s actual SkyTrain passing by from the bar.
- Local blog the Dependent has a great feature on the taxicab monopoly in Vancouver.
- Want to hear confessions from strangers on your subway ride? Wait no more: the TTC has an video art project called Confessions Underground starting next week.
- The Presto pass, Ottawa’s transit smartcard, was meant to debut this weekend, but instead will be delayed until February 2013.
- Copenhagen Cycle Chic points out a lovely video for a Vancouver cycle chic party!
- Calgary Transit issued a report recommending fare increases and parking fees to replace service hours cut in 2011, and add more service in low-served areas.
- Toronto’s transit agency is seeking four citizens to serve as transit commissioners to oversee their work. Apply now: deadline is July 4!
- Dave 2 sent in this Vancouver Sun article from 1974 about a subway coming in just a few years. Oh, history.

- Chicago’s shutting down an entire subway line for five months to do a quick rehab. 80,000 journeys disrupted, wow!
- The New York Times reports that walkable neighbourhoods are more in demand than ever.
- Also, London’s road and transit networks are bracing for Olympic traffic.
