16th Avenue Corridor Study is Ready for Your Review!
16th Avenue Corridor Study is Ready for Your Review!
The 16th Avenue corridor study through Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford has been completed!
In this study, all three municipalities as well as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, ICBC and TransLink reviewed current and potential future plans for transportation along 16th Avenue.
Examining an area extending 29 km from Highway 99 in South Surrey to Marshal Road in Abbotsford, the study looked at current issues with the corridor, its primary functions as well as ways in which 16th Ave could be improved.
Now that the study is completed, your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Here’s how you can have your voice heard:
1) Review the 16th Avenue Corridor Study here.
2) Complete the survey and tell us what you think!
The survey will only be available until Monday, July 27. Don’t miss your opportunity to participate!

Hmmm why it is that road upgrades are paid for without question – but paying for transit upgrades has to be voted on… ?
Lol Sheba! You beat me to it! I was going to ask when we should expect our mail-in voting package ;)
Why is the consultation period only 5 days?
Not only that, but the survey tool doesn’t work anyway.
“The survey you are trying to take is either not live or not available to you.”
Hi John, the survey is now closed. I am unsure why you were denied access earlier, but sorry for the inconvenience.
I live in Abbotsford and there has been public awareness campaign in the media about this studay and survey. Hmm… consultation by the Province of BC and TransLink really is just lip service. How about ads and a month for the public to respond.
5 day consultation period, over a weekend in the summer… I blinked and missed it.
I’d like to give Translink the benefit of the doubt, but this essentially amounts to zero opportunity for comment.
Truth of the matter is Abbotsford city would not allow a bypass through Aldergrove to aid traffic flow on Fraser HWY. Abbotsford has allowed over mining of gravel to get royalties. Now Abbotsford is filling our water table will undesirable fill from all over Greater Vancouver.Langley and Surrey roads are being destroyed by over loaded Trucks going to and from Abbotsford. Long transport trucks that can not make turns on to rural roads. 16th Ave is in the middle of ALR land and farmers need to travel on it. Its time Metro Vancouver comes up with a Transportation plan that does not impact the farming regions of the Fraser Valley. leave 16th Ave out of your future plans. Put 24th Ave through From Abbotsford to Surrey for commuter traffic and utilities. Upgrade Fraser Hwy and Hwy 1 to increase volume and travel time through the Valley. Remove the ridiculous speed bumps from O Ave.Pls
