Spring break is here! It’s time to get outside and enjoy the spring weather while creating lasting memories for the whole family!

We’ve come up with a fun list of five transit-friendly spring break activities you can do with your families.

Solve a mystery and save the world

Solve the murder or join a secret mission to save your city with Vancouver Mysteries! Pick your own adventure from the 4 outdoor games in downtown Vancouver or 4 virtual games. You will be the superheroes of your own adventure, as you’ll collect clues to solve the mystery on the streets of downtown Vancouver or a through multiplayer online game. Check out their website to book the time and date. Costumes and props are highly encouraged.

Get inside #LoveVancouver Bubbles

Lighten up your evening by checking out this walk-through art and dance installation. #LoveVancouver intends to spread love around Vancouver and bring some joy to the city after a dark winter. The installation will be available at three locations in downtown Vancouver every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm throughout March. Live performances will take place on Fridays. Please note that the installation is designed to be enjoyed in a safe and socially distanced way.

Have a splash at Watermania

Make a splash and have some fun at Richmond’s Watermania!  Watermania offers a complete aquatic and fitness experience all in one place. Make sure to complete a mandatory registration in advance, to help maintain physical distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols.

The following features will be open during the Spring Break sessions times:

  • 25 m Lane Swim
  • Wave Pool
  • Hot Tub
  • Fitness Centre

Become the Guardians of the Garden for a Bee Strong Challenge

Become a VanDusen Guardian of the Garden by helping build a kinder environment for the garden’s hardworking pollinators. Join the Bee Strong Challenge to learn more about our pollinator friends, and how we can do our part to protect them. Complete the Bee Strong Challenge and collect your Bee Strong badge and reward for your hard work! Suitable for children ages 4 to 10 (but all ages are welcome), participants will earn their first Guardians of the Garden badge. Capes and pollinator costumes are encouraged!

Explore the Fraser River

The Fraser River Discovery Centre is a great place to take your kids to be educated about the Fraser River and its ecosystems. The centre will offer interactive family-friendly activities, tours, and online programs, which will encourage you to explore the mighty Fraser River in different ways. In addition, the staff and volunteers will offer FRDC Exhibit Tours and Quayside Walking Tours, which provide different ways to explore the Fraser River’s economic, environmental, and cultural contributions to the province!
