Take transit to the Vancouver Mural Festival, Aug. 4-22
The Vancouver Mural Festival is back! The festival runs from August 4th to 22nd and features 60 new murals across 11 neigbourhoods. In-person events include guided tours of new murals, cultural talks featuring local artists, and live performances that range from burlesque to live music.
These live events take place at the Main and E 5th Ave pop-up patio in Mount Pleasant. TransLink will be at the festival too with our community outreach bus, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Make sure to stop in and say hi! Ask us about how we’re keeping the system clean as we reconnect the region to the people and places they love. Tell us your ideas on how we can improve your day-to-day transit experience.
We’re proud to sponsor the Vancouver Mural Fest and help Metro Vancouverites reconnect with the city.
Artists are painting murals across 11 neighbourhoods from the West End to Marpole. The perfect way to get around the festival is to buy a DayPass and hop on and off transit as you please. DayPasses provide unlimited transit use on bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus, and West Coast Express for one full day. With Tap to Pay, you can also tap your contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card or mobile wallet on Compass fare gates and readers to pay for an adult cash fare! In order to keep you safe, we’re continuing to take extra steps to make sure our buses are clean and sanitary.
Vancouver Mural Fest is a non-profit organization dedicated to artistic and cultural development. They’re already responsible for over 250 beautiful and striking murals across the city. Almost all of the murals (92 per cent) are created by local artists. The festival provides a platform for marginalized groups with 47 per cent of the murals created by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists.
