TransLink Staff Picks: Greg

TransLink Staff Picks: Greg

Welcome to TransLink Staff Picks! Here on The Buzzer we’re always trying to give our readers ideas for destinations and daytrips to take while using the Metro Vancouver transit system. We figured the best people to give recommendations for our readers would be employees from across the TransLink enterprise! In this series you can expect recommendations from bus operators, SkyTrain attendants, corporate employees and everyone else involved in keeping you moving.

Greg

Where do you work?

I work on TransLink’s corporate and employee communications team. So I find ways to tell you all about the new and exciting projects that are happening at TransLink.

What’s your favourite mode of transit?

My family loves taking the SeaBus.

How long have you been using transit?

For 12 years in Metro Vancouver. Before that, I had an OC Transpo pass in Ottawa and used transit to get to university.

Which transit routes do you like to take?

SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay, 23 to English Bay, and Canada Line to the airport

What’s your recommendation for where to go on transit for fun?

I grew up in Ontario, so one of the things I value most about living in Vancouver is our proximity to the ocean and beaches. I love the West End and English Bay in the summertime. It’s such a vibrant area. My three-year-old daughter likes to ride the 23 shuttle to visit the “A-maze-ing Laughter” sculptures at the foot of Beach Avenue. English Bay is a special place because you have the beach, restaurants, and one of the world’s greatest parks (Stanley Park) all within walking distance. For me, it represents the essence of Vancouver and what makes our city different (and better) than other major cities across Canada
