We decided to do something special for Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day, we dug up some of the nice tweets and messages you wrote about transit employees and surprised them with it.

It’s fair to say the result was nothing short of heart warming.

Of course, we couldn’t track everyone down and there were thousands of lovely tweets and messages sent.

But no matter where, what role or how long they’ve been a part of our transit family, each and every one of our transit operators and workers play an invaluable role in keeping the people of Metro Vancouver moving. So, thank you.

Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is celebrated on March 18 across transit agencies. It’s a day dedicated to honouring and appreciating the incredible people who keep our region moving.

There are over 8,000 employees who work everyday to keep transit in Metro Vancouver moving, from Bus Operators to SkyTrain Attendants, to the people you don’t see everyday on your commute but who work tirelessly behind-the-scenes to make sure everything is running smoothly.
