The Richmond Night Market is back for its 2022 season and all your favourites are returning!

This family-friendly event is one of the largest night markets in North America and has something for everyone. Vendors, live entertainment, carnival games, and an international food fair that will dazzle your taste buds with its eclectic mix of creative, culinary concoctions. The theme this year is “Summer Magic Rainbow” and visitors can expect a colourful experience with plenty of light displays as an ode to night markets of old.

Each night, the market attracts thousands of people and with limited parking, transit is one of the best ways to get there. Here’s what you need to know about taking transit, whether it be the bus or SkyTrain’s Canada Line to the Richmond Night Market! It’s easy as 1-2-3.

It’s a five-minute walk from Bridgeport Station

Coming from Vancouver? Take either the train bound for YVR Airport or Richmond–Brighouse. If you’re travelling within Richmond, look for the train headed towards Waterfront.

Aside from the SkyTrain’s Canada Line, there are several buses that stop at Bridgeport Station. It includes the 351 White Rock Centre/Bridgeport Station403 Bridgeport Station/Three Road, 407 Gilbert/Bridgeport Station, and 601 South Delta/Bridgeport Station. Schedules vary route by route and day, so plan your trip at translink.ca/tripplanner to know when you will arrive at the night market by and when to leave by.

If you’re coming from South Surrey, you can park your car at the South Surrey Park & Ride for $2 all day. Then, you can hop on the 351 Bridgeport Station to head to the night market.

Just tap your contactless credit card to pay your transit fare

Paying your transit fare is easy! There is no fumbling for coins or need to purchase a Compass Ticket at a station. Just tap your contactless American Express, Mastercard and Visa credit cards or mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay) on Compass readers onboard buses and at faregates.

Tap in only on buses, and tap in and out at SkyTrain stations and SeaBus terminals. Your credit card or mobile device will be your proof of payment, and you will have 90 minutes to transfer across bus, SeaBus and SkyTrain services.
