TransLink is one of Canada’s greenest employers!
TransLink is once again among Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2024. This is the seventh time we’ve earned this.
The Canada’s Greenest Employers designation, selected by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers that lead the country in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations.
TransLink earned this distinction as an enterprise, which includes British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (SkyTrain), Coast Mountain Bus Company, and Metro Vancouver Transit Police.
The editors cited TransLink’s Climate Action Strategy and net-zero emissions plan among the reasons why they selected us.
Our Climate Action Plan lays the foundation for our goal to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and increase resilience to climate change. It identifies three key areas of focus: reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate impacts, and advance governance and funding.
As a key part of our Climate Action Plan, our net-zero emissions transition plan includes a focus on the electrification and building of infrastructure in support of battery-electric buses. This will reduce bus fleet greenhouse gas emissions across the region.
