1. VanDusen Botanical Garden Harvest Days
The world-famous VanDusen Botanical Garden celebrates the arrival of fall with their Harvest Days event, taking place on weekends from September 28th to October 20th, including Monday, October 14th.
This event features live music, crafts, treats, food trucks and more! Better yet, it’s included with your Van Dusen admission, which you can save on, just by showing your Compass Card or proof of fare.*

2. HowlOver Canada
The FlyOver Canada attraction at Canada Place transforms into HowlOver Canada — a spooky story featuring a new fly-along adventure with cute characters and scary ghouls. This is a great one to duck into for a rainy day.

3. Hallo-weeks at The Amazing Brentwood
The special Hallo-weeks at The Amazing Brentwood runs from Oct. 12 to Oct. 31.
This free event features activities all month long, including a photo contest, story times with crafts, free movie events and LEGO workshops.

4. Pumpkins After Dark
Pumpkins After Dark returns to Burnaby with a brand-new display of classic Halloween characters and pop culture favourites. These intricate pumpkin carvings have something everyone will enjoy.
This event also features LIVE pumpkin carving demonstrations, great photo spots and treats!

5. Bear Creek Park Halloween Mini Train and Scream Train
Bear Creek Park offers two options for train goers, the daytime Halloween Mini Train (from Sept. 27 to Oct. 31) and the nighttime Scream Train (from Oct. 11 to Oct. 31).
Mini Train passengers go home with a pumpkin and a treat to take home, while the Scream Train offers a haunted forest experience, complete with a chainsaw-wielding killer. It’s best recommended for ages 12 and up, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

6. Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum
This year, the Burnaby Village Museum has put together a great family-friendly event! Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum: Legends, Tales, and Other Stories features live storytelling, a dance party, food and drinks, and even a performance from the Vancouver Circus School!
You can visit the Haunted Village from Oct. 23 to 27.

7. Central Spark
Burnaby’s signature event, Central Spark, happens on Friday, Oct. 25, 6-8 p.m. Costumes are encouraged as you participate in a dance party, enjoy food trucks, watch entertainment and end the night with a fireworks show.

8. The Spooktacular Halloween Market
The Spooktacular Halloween Market returns on Saturday, Oct. 26 on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This market features over 100 vendors across two buildings, and includes bouncy castles, food trucks and a raffle with proceeds that go to the Surrey Hospitals Foundation.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge turns into a thrilling, spooky forest during this special Halloween event, Canyon Frights.
All ages can come and enjoy prizes, Halloween-themed games, and on weekends, visit with owls and falcons. Family-friendly costumes are welcome, and expect to meet some ghostly hosts!

I agree… earlier would have been helpful… But this is a great way to support people to get out and enjoy the Vancouver area.
