While ice skating is enjoyed year-round, it’s a classic winter activity that can be enjoyed by all. With a variety of venues, accessible equipment, and inexpensive admissions, ice skating is fun for the entire family.

1. PNE Winter Fair
📍 Address: 2901 E Hastings St, Vancouver
🚌 Transit: R5 Hastings St RapidBus, 16 Arbutus/29th Avenue Station
💰 Cost: Tickets begin at $25 for adults, buy online in advance to save some cash. Skate rentals are $8
⌚ When: Now until Dec. 23
The Agrodome at the PNE transforms into a Canadian winter pond for skaters to enjoy. This is just one of the fun activities to experience at the PNE Winter Fair, as well as the PNE Holiday Express Train, so be sure to set aside some extra time after or before your skate to see it all.
2. Tsawwassen Springs Skating on the Fairway

🚌 Transit: 609 Ladner Exchange/South Delta Exchange
💰 Cost: $5 per person, bring your own skates and helmets as rentals are not available

3. Robson Square Ice Rink
📍 Address: 800 Robson St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 3B7
🚌 Transit: Granville Station (Expo Line) and Vancouver City Centre Station (Canada Line)
💰 Cost: Entry is free, Skate rentals are $5 and include a helmet.
⌚ When: Now until Feb. 28
A Vancouver winter staple is nestled inside Robson Square, the Ice Rink! Stop for a skate among your holiday shopping downtown or make an afternoon of it. Skate sharpening is also available some days for $5.
4. The 25th Annual Winter Ice Palace
📍 Address: Cloverdale Arena, 6090 176 St, Surrey, BC V3S 4E7
🚌 Transit: 395 Langley Centre/King George Station
💰 Cost: $5 per person. Rent skates for $3.50 and a helmet for $1.75. Demand is expected to be high so bring your own equipment if possible.
⌚ When: Now until Jan. 5
Cloverdale Arena turns into a Winter Wonderland for the 25th Annual Winter Ice Palace. Enjoy festive lights, decorations and music during your skate.
5. The Shipyards Skate Plaza
📍 Address: 125 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver, BC V7L 0B2
🚌 Transit: SeaBus
💰 Cost: Entry is free, Skate rentals are $7 for adults and $5 for kids. Rentals are limited so it is recommended to bring your own gear.
⌚ When: Now until March 2025
This is the region’s largest outdoor skating rink! The Shipyards Skate Plaza offers a stunning waterfront backdrop with views of downtown Vancouver and the North Shore mountains – perfect for family outings, date nights, or solo skates!
