The Easter long weekend is upon us, and it marks the unofficial beginning of spring events and the return of outdoor activities after the cold, dark winter. 

Whether you’re looking for an egg hunt, egg decorating, or simply, a glimpse of the Easter Bunny, there’s a ton going on, all accessible by transit.

1. Visit the Scuba Bunny at the Vancouver Aquarium 

Where 🐰: Vancouver Aquarium, 845 Avison Way, Vancouver, BC 
When ⌚: Saturday, April 12 to Monday, April 21 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., daily.
Transit Route 🚌: 19 Metrotown Station/Stanley Park, 240 Downtown/Lynn Valley, 246 Downtown/Highland, 241 Downtown/Upper Lonsdale.
Cost 💵: $31.35 for children aged 3-12, $49.95 for adults

The Scuba Bunny is visiting the Vancouver Aquarium to celebrate the Easter weekend, and you can spot them at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. during your visit. Watch as they dive among the fish and other sea creatures to get some great pics. 

After saying bye to Scuba Bunny, visit the exhibits and some of their other presentations, including the feeding and training of Sea Lions and Otters. Their newest exhibition, Survival of the Slowest features slow movers, from sloths to tarantulas! 

Toddlers under 3 years old get in free. 

2. Easter Fun at Bear Creek Park

When⌚: Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost💵: $15, you can purchase them at the event, no online sales of tickets. 

Easter Fun at Bear Creek Park is a weekend packed with lots for little bunnies to do. Enjoy a train ride, meet the Easter Bunny himself and visit farm animals. Stick around to create some arts and crafts, play games and hunt for eggs. Tickets will be available on site to purchase. 

3. Great Egg Hunt and Carnival at Blue Mountain Park 

Where🐰: Blue Mountain Park, 975 King Albert Ave, Coquitlam, BC 
When⌚: Saturday, April 19, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 20, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Transit Route🚌: 152 Coquitlam Central Station/Lougheed Station, 157 Burquitlam Station/Lougheed Station, 156 Braid Station/Lougheed Station.
Cost💵: $30 per child participant, $10 for an accompanying adult. 

Blue Mountain Park transforms into an Easter wonderland with carnival games, furry friends, and most importantly, an egg hunt! You can buy tickets online in advance, and all prizes, eggs, candies and surprises are included. Bring your Easter basket and be prepared to stuff it full as you explore the park.

4. Easter Bash with Broadway Church

Where🐰: Broadway Church, 2700 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC
When⌚: Saturday, April 19, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Transit Route🚌: Renfrew Station, 9 Alma/Commercial-Broadway Station/Boundary.
Cost💵: Free!

The Cityreach Care Society puts on the Easter Bash in part with Broadway Church, and it’s not one to miss. They put this on each year, and this year is slated to be the largest yet, with over 35,000 (!) chocolate Easter eggs for guests to find. Enjoy a balloon room, crafts, fun presentations, and that massive Easter egg hunt!

5. Bunny Bingo at Capilano Mall 

Where🐰: Capilano Mall, 935 Marine Dr, North Vancouver, BC 
When⌚: Saturday, April 19 from noon to 2 p.m.

Visit Capilano Mall to play Bunny Bingo with a few Easter friends, and you could win some goodies from Purdy’s Chocolate! Guest Services might have some treats for any-bunny that stops by, too. Take a photo in from of their Insta-worthy Easter backdrop and enter to win a $250 gift card to Capilano Mall. 

6. Big Easter Run 

Where🐰: Jericho Beach Park, 3941 Point Grey Rd, Vancouver, BC
When⌚: Saturday, April 19, noon to 4 p.m. 
Transit Route🚌: 84 UBC/VCC-Clark Station, 4 Downtown/Powell/UBC, 44 Downtown/UBC.
Cost💵: $37.12 for 1-3 kilometres with Gnubees Egg hunt (for children), $50.38 for 5-km run, and $53.03 for 10-km run. 

The Big Easter Run takes place against the beautiful backdrop of the North Shore and Vancouver skyline, with options for all runners, new or seasoned. There’s an egg hunt for kid entrants and a chocolate finishers medal for the adults. Bring a reusable water bottle for your run as there will be lots of stations to fill up at. 

7. Egg Hunt at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden 

Where🐰: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, 578 Carrall St, Vancouver, BC 
When⌚: Sunday, April 20, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Transit Route🚌: Stadium-Chinatown Station, 22 Knight/Downtown, 16 29th Ave Station/Arbutus.
Cost💵: $14.11 per guest 

This beautiful space makes for a great day of hunting for eggs, trying out arts and crafts and a magic show! Guests will be able to trade their found eggs in for a goody bag and take home some seed packets to start their own garden at home. It’s advised that guests buy their tickets in advance to ensure they’ve got a spot. 

8. Brunch with Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt in New West

Where🐰: Queens Park, 3rd Ave, New Westminster, BC 
When⌚: Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Transit Route🚌: 156 Braid Station/Lougheed Station, 155 Braid Station/22nd Street Station, 105 Uptown/New Westminster Station, 128 Braid Station/22nd Street Station.
Cost💵: $80 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children, $40 for adults, $25 for children aged 5-13, and $14 for children aged 2-4. 

Fuel up for Easter activities with a delicious, international brunch, and hop to it! Decorate eggs, make crafts, and pose for photos with the Easter Bunny.
