How to get there by bike

Going car-free can also mean going by bike!

Depending on your confidence level in cycling, you can choose to ride the full way or take transit part of the way then cycle the rest. Here’s what you need to know when bringing your bike on transit.

Aside from Google Maps or Apple Maps, you can also use the Vancouver Bike Route Planner to plan your cycling route. In this interactive map, you can set your start and end points and your preferred route type — shortest, least total elevation gain, least steep hills, least pollution, or has the most vegetation.

There’s also an option to toggle on markings to show nearby SkyTrain stations and Mobi bike share stations.

Bike Valet for bike parking

There’s a bike valet service at Car Free Day: Surrey.

  • 🗓️ Saturday, June 7, from 11:30 m. to 8:30 p.m.

Bike Valet is like a coat-check service. A staff member will tag your bike and provide you with a claim stub to retrieve it. They’ll look out for your bikes while you attend events and visit destinations in the city.

Bike Valet accommodates all active transportation devices including bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters, adaptive bikes, cargo bikes, bike trailers, strollers, and other personal mobility devices. You may also leave your helmet and pannier!

Check out Bike Valet’s events map if you’re thinking of cycling to an event.

Alternatively, you can also park your bike at our Bike Parkades, Bike Racks, and Bike Lockers near transit hubs.

Have fun and stay safe!
