Crisp, cozy fall has arrived, and these events will set up your season to be a great one! There’s lots of transit-friendly events happening across Metro Vancouver, varying from cozy movie nights to scares that’ll keep you up all night.
Read on for events that will fill your seasonal calendar all the way until late November.
1. Harvest Days at VanDusen Garden
The special themed Harvest Days at VanDusen Garden are back this year, included with your general admission. Running during the weekend, there’s the addition of fall treats, entertainment and the autumn stroll to your VanDusen visit.

📅When: Weekends between Sept. 27 to Oct. 19, plus Thanksgiving (Oct. 13)

2. Burnaby Pumpkins After Dark
Pumpkins After Dark returns to Swangard Stadium this year, with GIANT pumpkins intricately and expertly carved for you to enjoy. Watch a carver work their magic, enjoy fall treats and sweets, and bask in the glow of lit, giant jack-o’-lanterns.
💵Cost: From $22 – $25 for adults, depending on night of attendance, $18 – $21 for children, kids 3 and under enter free!

3. Vancouver Whitecaps games
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC have been on fire this season! With the exciting new addition of Thomas Müller, it’s a great time for Vancouver soccer fans. It’s so easy to take transit to a game and avoid a parking fee headache. Enjoy the free pre-game fan-zone and join in the excitement before you head into the game.

4. Canyon Frights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
The scenic haven of the Capilano Suspension Bridge transforms into a spooky, haunted woods during this limited time event. Included with your admission, experience fun surprises, photo ops and eerie ambiance as you explore the bridge park.
💵Cost: $78 for adults, $28 for children.

5. Fright Nights at Playland
The scariest event in Vancouver returns this year with favourite rides from Playland, scary characters, and sweet treats to recover after a haunted house walkthrough. Fright Nights also offers spooky entertainment and surprises throughout the park.
💵Cost: $40 general admission, plus $56 for Rapid Pass add-on

6. Vancouver International Film Festival
This year, the Vancouver International Film Festival features 435 screenings across 170 feature films and 100 short films. Films from Korea, India, Canada, and Indigenous filmmakers are taking part at the fest, and you can buy tickets for screenings, featuring these new films and old favourites as well.

7. Spooktacular Newton
Spooktacular Newton is a Halloween-themed event hosted by Newton BIA annually, that seems to grow larger each year. This community event is free and welcome to all ages and will take place rain or shine. Stop by for trick-or-treating, mini golf, haunted train rides, the kids fun zone, face painting, food trucks, bouncy castles and games.

8. Disney on Ice: Let’s Dance!
Disney on Ice returns to the Pacific Coliseum this year with their newest show, Let’s Dance! Featuring your favourite characters from Wish, Frozen 2, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Moana, this is an exciting event for all ages. Especially for the seasonal dates, there’s also a holiday themed pre-show sing along with Disney characters to make your ticket go even further.
