If you’re heading out for New Year’s Eve celebrations to ring in 2026, leave the car at home!

Ride FREE across all transit services from 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 5 a.m. on Jan. 1. Free trips on the SkyTrain and SeaBus are until end of service that evening.

During this time, you won’t need to tap your Compass Card or use other payment methods. Fare gates at SkyTrain stations and SeaBus terminals will be open for you to enter and exit.

If you start your trip before 5 p.m., make sure you tap as usual to ensure you’re charged correctly — even if the fare gate is open.

An extended schedule for this special night

Buses will operate on an extended weekday schedule with 52 extra buses, and extra service on select routes.

You’ll be able to hop on the SkyTrain after ringing in the new year at midnight, because we’ll have extended service for that, too!

Here are your last chances to take SkyTrain on New Year’s Eve:

• Last train from Waterfront to King George at 2:16 a.m.

• Last train from Waterfront to Lougheed Town Centre at 2:11 a.m.

• Last train from Waterfront to Production Way-University at 1:40 a.m.

• Last train from Waterfront to YVR-Airport Station at 2:08 a.m.

• Last train from Waterfront to Richmond-Brighouse at 2:15 a.m.

• Last train from VCC-Clark to Lafarge Lake-Douglas at 2:22 a.m. (until 2:30 a.m. as far as Lougheed Town Centre only)

• Last train from Lafarge Lake-Douglas to VCC-Clark at 1:58 a.m.

The TransLink Customer Service Centre and Access Transit Customer Care Office will be open with their regular hours on New Years Eve. The Lost Property Office will also be open, closing at 2 p.m.
