Here's what the End Cafe looks like, as you approach it from Commercial Drive Station.

Just a reminder that I Love Transit Night is tonight, if you’d like to join us.

I have a space at the End Café reserved on Thursday Feb. 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Look for us in the back of the restaurant! (The address is 2360 Commercial Drive, Vancouver – it’s located right next to Commercial Drive Station.)

At about 7:30 p.m., we’ll start playing transit games to test everyone’s knowledge of the system. Again, I’ll also have buttons, bus and SkyTrain cutouts, and more fun transit-related items on hand. And while we can’t provide the drinks, appetizers will be supplied. All ages and levels of transit-nerdery are welcome!

As always, if you’re coming, it would be nice to have an RSVP at thebuzzer@translink.bc.ca, so I can get a head count and plan for food and the like.

It was a fun night! Great chance to make new friends and talk to new people, lots of fun playing all those games, and of course – the delicious goodies provided during the event *yum!* Thank you Buzzer Blog and Translink for organizing such a fun event, hopefully next time when we do it again more people will come and join the fun!

Oh, good! I was hoping that there would be a place for us to place some comments.

I agree with Dave. He seemed to express exactly what I felt.

I’d like to add to it, though.

I didn’t look through the photo albums, but it was neat that there were photo albums available.

I’m just so amazed at that lady who showed us her collection of bus passes.

Hopefully, there will be other meetups. I’d like to have a meetup maybe once per month. Then again, I’m going away to Alberta for quite a while. :^( Maybe once per month is a bit much for some people.

I assume that this took a lot of time to prepare. Maybe people can bring things to share with the group. In other words, maybe we could have Show ‘n Tell for transit related stuff, with a time for Q&A, after each person.

    What do you all think?

Thanks David & Eugene! Great to see you both out there yesterday. Glad you had a good time and I am thinking about having another meetup in the future — probably not so frequently as once a month, as this does take some time to prepare for, and I don’t want to do so many that the meets become banal. Although, now that we’ve had our first meetup, I can get more of you involved in the planning stages for the next one. Maybe in a couple of months or so :)

Agh – sorry you missed it, Dan!

So sorry to have missed it.
I was recovering from running around after the Prime Minister Harper and Premier Campbell’s visit to SkyTrain’s Operations and Maintenance Centre that morning.
    Talk about Transit excitement!
