All the details for I Love Transit Night, Thu July 15!
Come to I Love Transit Night, a live meetup on Thursday July 15!
It’s all part of the second annual I Love Transit Week, which takes place from July 12-16. It’s our yearly chance to celebrate transit—because while there are many things we don’t like about transit, there are still many things that we do like!
So come out for some food, fun and games during I Love Transit Night, and look out for some lovely rider-submitted essays and photos in the blog next week and in the August Buzzer.
This year’s I Love Transit Night will take place in New Westminster—see the full details below. I hope it’s just as much fun as last year!
The main event: the Heritage Grill, New Westminster
Come join us in the back room of the Heritage Grill in New Westminster, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday July 15!
The Heritage Grill is located at 447 Columbia Street, just steps away from Columbia Station on the Expo and Millennium Lines. Here’s a Google Map for directions!
We’ll provide the food, and you’ll be responsible for your own drinks. I’ve organized three games, and they’ll start at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30! Feel free to come by!
Come to Edmonds Station early for a short hybrid bus ride to the event!
Also, if you can make it earlier, I’ve arranged for a Nova hybrid bus to take us on a short ride to the event!
Meet me at Edmonds Station bus loop at 5:30 p.m. and you can hop aboard. The bus will leave at 5:45 p.m. so don’t be too late! I’ll hold a sign up so you can find us :)
Update: The bus will be stopping at bus bay 5! I’ll still wave the sign around so you can find us though.
Send in an RSVP, SVP!
Just one thing: if you are planning to come, do send me an RSVP so I can get a good idea of the numbers! It’ll help with ordering food, etc.

How do we get to Heritage grill on transit from Richmond?
Just a heads up that I will be comming to this event for for sure. Count me in.
I”ll try to come to Edmonds early so I could ride the bus too.
Ric: Why don’t you use the Trip Planner instead of always asking for help?
Take the 410 to 22nd Street Station and catch an eastbound train. Get off at Columbia Station and walk south on Columbia street and it’ll be on you’re right hand side.
C.Cassidy: everytime I use the trip planner for directions, it never works out for me. I usually prefer to call the customer service number for trip details instead.
I just thought that I ask her for directions this time since she may know the way which will save me from having to make a phone call.
Anyways, thanks for giving me trip info but it would be more helpful if you gave me the total trip time and what time I should start my trip if comming from Richmond Center.
Also I am not good with directions so I don’t know what you mean by walking south. I can never figure out which way is North, East, South or West.
Hi, Looking forward to the event. Not sure if my youngest or my wife will be able to make it, but myself and my oldest Abby for sure. As Abigail would say ‘why drive when you can ride the bus?’. PS we will see you at Edmonds!
Argh! I can’t make it again this year! I’m going on vacation next friday and Thursday is packing day! Guess I’ll wait another year! Have fun!
Oh and forgot to ask: jhen, could you also send me a set of the new buzzer pins?
Daniel: yes, you have asked for the buttons to be sent to you already, and I will arrange to send them out.
Darn it! I can’t make it- I’ll be on vacation! All y’all will be enjoying everything transit while I’ll be getting a tan at the beach! Life is so difficult! ;)
btw, I’m not supporting tanning, I just naturally tan instead of burning because I have tan skin
Have fun guys!
That must have been one wild Blog party…. they changed the name after the first visit and now we need to look for a new place after the second get-together.
@ Jhenifer
You chose the Heritage Grill! Yes!!! Is this because of my suggestion?
Thank you so much Jhenifer.
@ Ric
I suggest using Google maps, and consulting transit maps.
Also, to walk from the station, come out on Columbia St, and turn right. Jhenifer gave us a link to a Google map. There are 2 indications of the location.
Eugene: Oh, did you suggest the Heritage Grill before? Great minds must think alike :)
[…] As well, I Love Transit Week will also have a live meetup: I Love Transit Night, on Thursday July 15! Make plans to join us for fun, food, and silly transit games: see the full details here. […]

I’m going to try and make it, but I will likely be quite late. I don’t get off work until 6 and it’ll take me close to an hour to get to New West. But please count me in. Thanks for organizing Jhenifer.
2 people would like to come. Thanks! :)
Thanks Angel!
See you tomorrow Jhenifer.
Two question about this event though:
1) If we go to Edmonds station to ride the Hybrid bus, will the bus be taking us to Heritage Grill?
2) Are we allowed to bring a camera to the event?
Sounds like it will be a fun event, count me in Jhenifer! :)
I’ll most likely be attending, though I might be a little bit late. And sorry for the late reply.
I can’t say for certain that I’ll make it, but I’ll likely be there.
