Connect with us at our transportation fairs, Oct 16, 17, and 23
We’re holding three transportation fairs this October!
Learn about our system and comment on our future plans
At the fairs, you’ll be able to examine and offer feedback on two of our upcoming plans:
- our proposed 2011 Supplemental Plan (more info + online questionnaire)
- the principles behind our upcoming Service Optimization Initiative (more info + online questionnaire)
Participate, and you’ll be eligible to win one of ten monthly FareCards to be drawn at each fair. As well, there will be three chances for a grand prize: a year’s free transit, one given away at each fair.
At the fairs, you can also learn about our transportation investments over the past ten years and how they’ve made an impact on the region. There will also be vintage buses on hand, activities for kids, hot dogs and drinks, and more. You can also enter our electronic fare card naming contest at the fair, to win an iPad and a year of free transit in 2013 — or just enter the contest here!

I found your entry interesting do I’ve added a Trackback to it on my weblog :)…
I think there should be some kind of pedestrian awareness week or something on Granville, because obviously people are not getting the message that the Granville st has been reopened to bus traffic. Some of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen was a young man literally sitting on the curbside texting and listening to music on his iPhone until the monstrous trolley bus honked, almost running him over. Another instance was two British tourists chatting quite happily in the middle of the busway (as if nothing scary was going to happen) until a speeding Nova bus honked behind them, and suddenly became terrified and ran as fast as they could. While I’m happy that Granville Mall has reopened to traffic, but once I continue see these things happen, I sometimes wonder if Granville Mall should be remained a pedestrian street.
I like the return of a bus only corridor on Granville Downtown. Tourists will always do stupid things (taking pictures in the middle of the street), especially when traffic volumes are low.
With regards to locals, it’s a matter of giving them time to adjust.
Keep Granville for transit.
