We’ve got a long weekend filled with events ahead of us, and with great events come great transit reroutes. All the specifics can be found on our Alerts page, but I’ve got some highlights below that you might want to look out for.

Reroutes for Pride Vancouver, Friday Aug 3 to Sunday Aug 5

As you certainly may have heard already, Vancouver Pride Week is on, and this upcoming weekend has a few events that will affect transit service.

The Vancouver Dyke March and Festival Bus runs on Friday, August 4, 2012, from Commercial Dr between 6th & Charles, meaning reroutes to the 20 from 11:30-4pm. Reroute map!

Dance on Davie will be held on Davie Street between Burrard to Bute on Friday August 3, 2012. That means reroutes for the 5, 6, N6, C21 and C23 from 3pm on Friday to 4am on Saturday. Reroute map here.

The Pride Parade runs on Sunday August 5, 2012, meaning reroutes for the 5 and 6 from 6am to 6pm, and the C21 and C23 from 6am to 6:30pm. Here’s an awesome reroute map.

B.C. Day service

B.C. Day is next Monday, August 6, 2012!

As you may have guessed, transit service for the day will be on a Sunday/holiday schedule. West Coast Express operates no trains or TrainBus on Monday.

Remember that the whole transit system is a single zone on B.C. Day, so zone fares are not in effect! So you can buy a one zone ticket and ride all over.

Also, don’t forget our group ride offer: on Sundays and statutory holidays, you can use your FareCard to take five other riders with you for free. That means you can take either one more adult and up to four children with you, or up to five children. The offer applies to the Adult FareCard, West Coast Express 28-day Pass, or Annual Employer Transit Pass. (It doesn’t apply to Concession Passes, sadly.)

For more info, please give our Customer Information a shout at 604-953-3333. Or reach out via Twitter to @translink. B.C. Day info is also on our website here.

Have a great holiday!
