I Love Transit: Next stop… I do!
I Love Transit: Next stop… I do!
Today marks the official start of I Love Transit Week. A week where we celebrate our riders, transit enthusiasts and all the things we love about transit. This year, we’re kicking it off with none other than a love story, in transit.
SkyTrain is no stranger to romantic stories. From chance meetings to proposals and even weddings on board, the next stop for many SkyTrain passengers is love.
In May of 2017, Rodney and Darci journeyed to Vancouver all the way from Minneapolis to elope in the middle of our beautiful city. Neither had been to Vancouver before, but both were eager to explore the city they had heard so much about. Before their official “I do,” Rodney, Darci and their photographer, Emily Nicole, embarked on an adventure through picturesque downtown Vancouver.Wanting to explore the city like true Vancouverites, the nearly-wed couple tapped onto the SkyTrain en route to Yaletown where they were able to enjoy a peaceful candid moment together on the train. The happy couple said their vows under a chandelier at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver with with their officiant, Lani, from Young Hip and Married. In the presence of their photographer, Emily, and a delightful stranger named Barbara as witness they were officially wed!
TransLink would like to congratulate Rodney and Darci on their union! Special thanks to Young Hip and Married and Emily Nicole Photos for sharing this couples’ love with us!

Thank you for the kind words and spotlight of our special day (plus highlighting our new Vancouver friends) while we visited your wonderful city.
What happened to I love transit night? I love transit camp for adults? I dont like how everything is limited to kids now. What about all the old transit fans?
Yeah agreed, even though I’m a kid. Adding to this, why is I Love Transit Week events this year whole classes only?
