#MyTransLink – March 27

Here’s lookin’ at you Metro Vancouver—literally! We’re back with the latest edition of #MyTransLink, our weekly photo series showcasing your best pictures of life in and around transit in our region. This week, we challenged you to capture the Metro Vancouver commuter! We were looking for the hustle and bustle of people on transit, and you captured just that in the most beautiful of ways. Photos, pencil and ink sketches, and watercolour paintings filled the #MyTransLink feed. Take a look at the week that was and make sure to scroll to the bottom to grab the theme for the upcoming week.

Since I started my #commutersketchbook in March 2017. Each sketchbook has 24 pages and on average I draw 30 – 50 commuters per sketchbook. With the completion of my 12th sketchbook; I have drawn 431 of my fellow commuter. Commuter Sketchbook No.12, 1-3, started on Jan 16th 2018 and completed it on Feb 6th, 2018. In 22 days I drew 38 commuters. I would observe commuters on the SkyTrain anywhere between 5- 45 minutes. On average I would only have 20 minutes to draw my fellow commuters, all the while standing in the moving cart with other passengers. Sometimes I would add detail after the commuter left the train untill I reached my destination. Their are a few pages where I have several sketches. These pages were on days that my subject were only on for one stop or the moved to a seat. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!
