Talk Transport 2050 with us at Car Free Days this weekend, June 15–16
Car Free Day Vancouver is back on June 15, 16 and July 7 and we’ll be there to talk Transport 2050 with you.
Transport 2050 is a new shared regional strategy that will help navigate the next 30 years of transportation in Metro Vancouver!
This is TransLink’s largest public engagement ever and we want to hear your creative and bold ideas for future.
How do you see your kids and grandchildren living in the future of a city that is changing in the way we live? What will their transit journey look like?
So, stop by, take the survey and let us know! Can’t make it? You can also take the survey at transport2050.ca.
Car Free Day is a community event filled with fun-filled activities to enjoy with family, by celebrating our vibrant neighbourhoods and the spaces to connect people, rather than cramping up in a car. This is definitely an experience you can get to easily with public transit and by walking with your own two feet.
By walking you’ll get the most out of your festival experience. Take time to see what local businesses and talent offer to the community. There are plenty of food options and parklet spaces (parts of a street converted as a public space for people to sit) by the City of Vancouver where you can relax.
We also encourage people to cycle. There will be a Bike Valet on site at the Main Street festival, so your bike will be safe and secure while you are out enjoying the day with friends.
If you always wanted to explore the city by cycling but don’t have a bike of your own, Mobi bikes has several parking stations along the routes that you can find under specific Car Free Day events. TransLink also has a bike map you can find here to plan your trip or you can also take a look at HUB Cycling for best tips on how to bike with transit.
If you must drive, consider using Modo and Evo carshare. Worry less about getting lost and enjoy your experience instead!
