Thank you to our customers
Thank you to our customers
As you likely heard earlier today, the bus and SeaBus strike has been averted. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our customers, who rely on us to move you around the region. Thank you for your patience during this uncertain time and thank you for the support you showed to our transportation system.
Over the past several days and weeks, we saw the region come together to support each other. From carpooling campaigns to bike sharing, to overnight campus campouts or advocating to the bargaining parties to reach a settlement. Metro Vancouverites are resilient people and I am motivated by your actions.
Public transit is critical to moving upwards of half a million customers in and around Metro Vancouver every single day. It is our bus operators and maintenance workers—our frontline employees—who play the tremendous role of transporting our customers, safely and responsibly, to and from their destinations. They are the heart of our transit operations and they deserve our utmost support. I urge all our customers, today and every day, thank your bus operator and SeaBus captain, and also recognize the hard work that our maintenance workers do every single day and night behind the scenes to make sure your bus and SeaBus are ready to go.
