TransLink to provide complimentary shuttles to vaccination sites for priority groups
We’re part of the Metro Vancouver community. Interim CEO Gigi Chen-Kuo shares how TransLink is helping to drive the COVID-19 vaccination efforts forward. We’re partnering with Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health to provide complimentary shuttles to help safely transport priority groups to their local vaccination clinic.

So today I want to tell you about how we are moving some of our most vulnerable populations to and from their local vaccination sites.
TransLink is providing complimentary services through shuttles in order to get residents to their local vaccination clinic. And this is a partnership between TransLink and its local health authorities – Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health.
Now we’re doing this because TransLink is a part of this community and we want to do our part to help our customers. And this particular partnership began when we learned that some members of our community were having real difficulty accessing their local vaccination sites and so we wanted to help out.
Currently, we have three pilot projects in our region.
They include a shuttle to transport seniors on the North Shore from Capilano Mall to the ICBC vaccination site. We also have a partnership providing door-to-door HandyDART services for seniors and people with disabilities in Burnaby, New Westminster, South Surrey, and Langley who require assistance to get to their local sites.
And we also have a shuttle for up to 200 vulnerable seniors and residents in Vancouver’s Chinatown to get to their vaccination clinic at Vancouver Community College.
So if you know of a group of individuals who are having trouble accessing their clinics, we want to hear from you.
Please contact your local health authority today. We’re here to help Metro Vancouver and we want to help drive the recovery from COVID-19.
Thank you!
