2020 in Review: Transit Police’s Blue Eagle Community Cadets Program
Chief Officer Dave Jones of the Metro Vancouver Transit Police reflects on how the force helped keep our region moving throughout 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic. Transit Police also launched the Blue Eagle Community Cadets program, providing youth, between the ages of 12 and 15, with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, while learning about Indigenous culture and policing.
The program is led by Constable Kirk Rattray, Transit Police’s Indigenous Liaison Officer, in partnership with the Aboriginal Policing Centre, and the Vancouver Police Department’s Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenous Relations Section.
