Cycle to Mount Pleasant and use the bike valet, Aug. 7-8 and 14-15
The restart is here and we couldn’t be more excited to help you reconnect with the people and places you love — whether that’s by transit, cycling or walking! That’s why we’ve partnered to help setup a bike valet service in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.
What’s a bike valet? It’s like a coat check, but for your bike!
Park your bike for free at the bike valet at the southwest corner of Main Street and Broadway in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. It will be available on Aug. 7-8 and 14-15, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Don’t have a bike? It’s easy to explore with your bike with Mobi by Shaw Go, Vancouver’s bike share service. Use promo code biketotransit to redeem 50 per cent off a 24-hour pass and get cycling!
How it works
1. Cycle to the bike valet and drop off your bike
The bike valet is setup inside the public parking lot at the southwest corner of Main Street and Broadway in Vancouver. Volunteers will tag your bike and provide you with a claim sub. The bike valet is operated by volunteers with Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST), sponsored by the City of Vancouver, and powered by TransLink’s TravelSmart program.
2. Volunteers park your bike
If you like, you can leave your helmet or panniers on your bike. Remember to keep your claim stub safe, so you can pickup your bike later. While you’re there, you can also register your bike with Project 529, a community-powered bike recovery service, and pick up cycling maps to help plan your next bike trip.
3. Enjoy all that Mount Pleasant has to offer, then pick up your bike
The Vancouver Mural Festival runs from Aug. 4 to 22, featuring 60 new murals across 11 neighbourhoods — including Mount Pleasant. Our community outreach team will be at the Vancouver Mural Festival pop-up patio every Saturday with our outreach bus.
Construction of the Broadway Subway Project is underway. Your favourite Broadway businesses are open and appreciate your support. They’re here for you and whatever you need, they’ve got you covered.
Finally, a reminder that the bike valet closes up at 8 p.m., so please plan accordingly.
That’s it!
Don’t quite have the energy to cycle all the way home at the end of the day? No worries! Bikes can ride transit too — our buses are all equipped with bike racks.
