TransLink recently introduced our new CEO Kevin Quinn to Metro Vancouver. The Buzzer editor Robert Willis sits down with Kevin to discuss public transportation, including valuable lessons from his cross country journey. Kevin was formerly the Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). His experience overseeing one of the largest multi-modal transit systems in the United States has strong parallels to TransLink.

Kevin served as CEO of the MTA since 2017. He focused on developing customer experience and employee engagement. While he was with MTA he oversaw the development of  real-time tracking technology buses and rail service. Additionally, he helped introduce the agencies first mobile payment app. Before he was the CEO, Kevin was the Director of Planning and Programming for MTA. Where he was responsible for implementing a complete overhaul of the core transit system, including the introduction of high-frequency bus lines.

Kevin holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Kevin was recognized as a Top 40 under 40 transit professional in Mass Transit Magazine.
