Register for Fall Go by Bike Week, Sept. 27 – Oct. 3
Cycling can be one of the fastest ways to get around. You can travel five times further on bike for the same amount of time and energy expended as walking. For most trips under 5 kilometres, which account for 50 per cent of car trips in Metro Vancouver, a bicycle is faster in urban settings.
When you combine cycling with transit, you can travel even faster and further. Metro Vancouver has facilities and infrastructure that make combining cycling with transit easy, safe, affordable and convenient. Bikes are welcome onboard transit — including our buses, which are all equipped with bike racks.
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a newcomer, we invite you to cycle during Go By Bike Week! This fall, it’s Sept. 27 to Oct. 3. Register and log your trips at bikehub.ca/gbbw for a chance to win great prizes, track your kilometers, and see how many greenhouse gas emissions you’ve saved.
Visit one of 23 in-person Knowledge HUB stations across Metro Vancouver where participants have a chance to win awesome prizes and get free bike checks and snacks! Also visit the popular Community Stations that are also offering free snacks, giveaways, and bike fixes.
Did you know? Since 2007, Go by Bike Week (formerly known as Bike to Work Week) has motivated 130,000 participants to cycle their daily commute, including 20,000 new cyclists!
Bravo?? I congratulate you for this type of initiative that motivates us to use more our bicycles, hopefully each time we are more, less pollution, better physical condition ?✌️
