Shop the Line this holiday season
Shop the Line this holiday season
We know that small businesses have been hit hard by the pandemic, so it’s more important than ever this holiday season to shop local and support our region’s economic recovery. It’s time to Shop the Line.
At TransLink, we’ve made it super easy for you to shop local without the hassles of searching for parking and being stuck in traffic.
This holiday season, let us do the driving and you can just take in the magic that comes with browsing for that perfect gift. Sip on an eggnog latte while strolling through local shops lined with decorations with Michael Bublé tunes playing in the background.
We are inviting you to Shop the Line! Check out our interactive map to find local businesses and shopping centres on the transit network.
You will be able to find shops like Gastown’s Cappelleria Bertacchi Italian Hatcrafter where owner Lucia Vuillermin welcomes visitors to their little corner of Tuscany in Vancouver.
“This holiday season,” says Vuillermin, “use transit to come discover our passion for precious materials, old techniques passed from generation to generation and unique creations.”
While you do that, be on the look out for our TransLink street teams who will be on location at shopping districts and malls handing out surprise gift cards and Compass Card Day passes to help spread that holiday cheer.
And if you’re shopping for that special transit enthusiast in your life, stop by the TransLink Store Pop-Up event located at Stadium—Chinatown Station from December 2nd – 4th from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to find the perfect gift.
If that’s not reason enough, recent weather-related events have shown us, parking your car in favour of more sustainable modes of transportation, like transit, is a great way to cut back on GHG emissions and combat climate change. Not to mention, with supply chains disrupted, retailers are warning of delivery delays. So, getting out in person is also a good way to make sure you get all your shopping done on time.
This season, let’s celebrate family and friends and all the amazing businesses that make the Vancouver region such a special place to call home. This season, let’s all Shop the Line!
