Here’s why three Metro Vancouver buses are sporting moustaches

For years, Stephen Wright, Maintenance Engineer at Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC), has donned his greatest ‘stache for Movember. This year his desire to double down on both his fundraising and Movember awareness efforts led to doubling up… Literally!

Meet Dapper Dennis, the bus-stached double-decker bus.

For the month of November, three double-decker buses (R21401, R21402, R21405) will be rolling through Metro Vancouver streets sporting four-foot vinyl moustache decals on the top-deck windows. These buses will also display an LED moustache and MOVEMBER across the front destination sign on the bus.

Seeing other local brands and organizations taking part in Movember initiatives, including BC Transit who have their own fleet of mustachioed buses, sparked this idea for Stephen.

“Movember is often recognized for its support of prostate and testicular cancer, however, it’s also about supporting mental health and suicide prevention – something that has become a significant struggle now more than ever,” he says. “We could all use a good laugh and some fun after the past few years, so why not have some good times while supporting a great cause?”

And what gets people talking more than a bus-stache?
