WATCH: Hundreds of commuters turn into carolers as SeaBus riders belt out All I Want for Christmas is You

Commuters sing with vocalist and singer, Jill, on the SeaBus during a sing-along.

Christmas caroling, but make it a moment yule never forget.

That’s what hundreds did in this better-than-Hallmark-Christmas-movie moment, joyously tackling Mariah Carey’s holiday favourite, All I Want for Christmas is You, as the SeaBus sailed across the Burrard Inlet on Saturday, Dec. 16.

The sing-along, which lasted for two hours between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., is part of Art Moves, our music and performance residency series bringing vibrancy to the transit system.

At the helm of this popular sing-along was SeaBus songstress and Vancouver vocal coach Sing with Jill, on piano, singing four songs, as the SeaBus traversed between Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver and Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver.

Each trip started with mostly reluctant carolers, but all trips ended with smiles and applause. One customer declared it “the best SeaBus ride ever”.

For Jill, it was a pleasure to be back on the SeaBus again to share joy during the holidays.

The most requested Christmas jingle, by far, was Last Christmas. Other songs included Jingle Bell Rock, and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
