The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 take place from Feb. 8 to 16!
This international sporting competition is dedicated to wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans. The word “Invictus” means unconquered and the games celebrate courage, resiliency, and the strength of the human spirit. Through the power of sport, the games aim to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country.
The event will feature 532 competitors from 23 nations, competing in 11 adaptive sports across various venues in Vancouver and Whistler.
Take transit to the Invictus Games
BC Place, Hillcrest Centre, Rogers Arena, UBC Aquatic Centre, and the Vancouver Convention Centre are the venues hosting Invictus Games events in Vancouver.
All are conveniently located near transit, so choose transit to get there! Plan your trip using translink.ca/tripplanner.
There’s earlier service on the SeaBus on Sunday, Feb. 9 with the first sailing from Lonsdale Quay to Waterfront Station at 7:02 a.m. (an hour earlier than usual).
Here’s some helpful tips and notes for riding transit to the venues:
Opening Ceremonies at BC Place
- BC Place is a five-minute walk or roll from SkyTrain’s Stadium–Chinatown Station on the Expo Line, via the Beatty Street exit.
- BC Place is a ten-minute walk or roll from SkyTrain’s Yaletown–Roundhouse Station or Vancouver City Centre Station on the Canada Line. Both stations have elevators.
- Gates A, B, and H have step-free access from Terry Fox Plaza off Beatty Street.
- If you need an elevator, remember to exit the stadium via Gates A, B, or H after the event to ensure easy access to Expo Line or Canada Line
- The Expo Boulevard entrance of Stadium–Chinatown Station is stairs only.
- For those coming from North Vancouver, take the SeaBus to Waterfront Station and transfer to the Expo Line and get off at Stadium–Chinatown Station.
Closing Ceremonies at Rogers Arena
- Take the Expo Line to Stadium–Chinatown Station. Rogers Arena is a seven-minute walk away from the Expo Boulevard entrance via stairs.
- If you need an elevator, exit via Beatty Street. Gates 1, 2, and 8 at Rogers Arena are accessible to all attendees, less than a five-minute walk or roll away on the Dunsmuir Viaduct.
- When the event is finished, remember to exit the arena via the same gates on Level 300 for easy access to the station.
- The Expo Boulevard entrance of Stadium–Chinatown Station is stairs only.
- If you need an elevator, exit via Beatty Street. Gates 1, 2, and 8 at Rogers Arena are accessible to all attendees, less than a five-minute walk or roll away on the Dunsmuir Viaduct.
Vancouver Convention Centre and the Invictus Village
- The closest SkyTrain station is Waterfront with the convention centre a five-minute walk or roll away.
- If you need an elevator, use the Cordova Street entrance as the Howe Street entrance, near Canada Place, is stairs only.
Hillcrest Centre
- The closest SkyTrain station is King Edward Station and from there you can ride the 33 29th Avenue bus to Hillcrest Centre.
UBC Aquatic Centre
- The UBC Aquatic Centre is next to the UBC Exchange, the final stop for 11 different bus routes — including the 99 B-Line and R4 41st Ave RapidBus.
- From Downtown Vancouver, you can ride the SkyTrain’s Canada Line to Broadway–City Hall Station and transfer to the 99 B-Line.
Paying for your transit fare
There are several ways to pay your fare when riding transit:
- Contactless Payment (Tap to Pay): The easiest and fastest way to pay your transit fare is with your contactless credit (American Express, Mastercard and Visa) or Interac Debit card.
- Compass Card (reloadable fare card): Stored Value or DayPass
- Compass Ticket (single-use ticket): Single use or DayPass

For help on the Expo and Millennium Lines, please call 604.520.5518 on the day of your trip, at least 10 minutes before arriving at a station, to ensure there is an attendant available to assist you. For help on the Canada Line, please call 604.247.5703 to request assistance.

- Yellow silent alarm strips are available on every train, and red emergency phones are available inside every station.
