Here’s where to take transit to see cherry blossoms!

Spring has arrived! With over 4,000 cherry trees blooming at various times in March and April, the city is transformed into a landscape of pink petals.
Originally received as a gift from Japan over 90 years ago, these trees have become an iconic symbol of spring in Metro Vancouver. We’ve compiled a list of transit-friendly spots, perfect for capturing the blossoms.

Waterfront Station
Hop off at Waterfront Station, walk towards the A&W, and you’ll find a staircase leading up to a great cherry blossom spot, complete with beautiful views of the city. There are tables to eat lunch at or take in the views while you enjoy your coffee. You might even catch the SeaBus sailing across the Burrard Inlet.
You’ll be surrounded by water and sails on one side, and the bustling high-rises of downtown Vancouver on the other.
Burrard Station
As soon as you step out of the station, you’ll be greeted by a stunning sea of pink cherry blossoms. There’s a walkway full of cherry blossoms that creates a great photo spot, and cherry blossoms on both sides of this station to see.
Stadium–Chinatown Station/Andy Livingstone Park
Just a few minutes’ walk from Stadium–Chinatown Station, you’ll find Andy Livingstone Park. You’ll likely be able to spot the cherry blossoms as you walk up! There’s a trail, a little pond, and places to sit and enjoy the view.
Joyce–Collingwood Station
You’re minutes away from many clusters of cherry blossom trees around here as dainty, pink petals carpet the residential areas here.
Metrotown Station / Burnaby Civic Square
Burnaby Civic Square offers a perfect blend of city and nature, located just minutes from Metrotown Station. This beautiful green space is nestled within the Burnaby skyline, and you’ll discover other residential hidden gems just a short walk away on the opposite side of the station.
