TransLink named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, again!

For the eighth time, TransLink has earned a spot on the list of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2025. This recognition highlights the continued efforts of our employees who are not only committed to delivering exceptional transit service, but also to helping us build a more sustainable future for Metro Vancouver.
What makes TransLink one of Canada’s Greenest Employers
The editors behind the award highlighted several key initiatives the reflect our ongoing commitment to sustainability across our operations. From how we move people to how we manage our spaces and engage our employees.
Green buildings
Our LEED-certified head office in Sapperton features solar shading, smart metering, and a solar-reflective roof that helps reduce energy use. Across our facilities, we’ve implemented numerous energy-saving upgrades through BC Hydro’s conservation and energy management programs, further reducing our environmental footprint.
Net-zero emissions plan
Through our Net-Zero Emissions Transition Plan, we’re investing in the infrastructure needed to support battery-electric buses. These efforts are crucial in our goal to fully transition to a zero-emission fleet by 2040 and significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions from bus operations across Metro Vancouver.
Promoting sustainable travel
In addition to providing efficient, reliable public transit, we encourage sustainable modes of travel like walking and cycling. Our first large-scale Ride and Shine campaign highlighted 15 key routes for biking, walking, and transit — leading to a boost in ridership and showcasing how easy it is to get around the region without a car.
At the heart of this work is our Climate Action Plan — a roadmap to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, while making our system more resilient to climate change. We’re already making progress. From converting the West Coast Express fleet to cleaner fuels to installing LED lighting in park-and-ride lots, we’re pushing forward on bold sustainability goals.
Why it matters and why you should care
Whether you ride daily or occasionally, this recognition shows TransLink is a leader in climate action and forward-thinking innovation. It’s a reminder that TransLink is more than transit — it’s a progressive, sustainability-focused place to build a career.
If you value environmental responsibility in the workplace, we’re building the kind of future-focused employer you might want to be part of.
